MEET THE STAFF
Miss Jeanette Miss Heather
Miss Jeanette has been the Supervisor of Gingerbread for 18 years and has stepped down from this role as of September 1, 2016; however, she will remain at Gingerbread as the RECE. Miss Jeanette has also worked with the Ontario's Early Years Child Care Programs, and with some of Toronto's Centres for Early Learning. She is a go-getter who pours her heart into the annual Spring Festival Fundraiser every May, which continues to be a huge success year after year.
Miss Heather has been the RECE at Gingerbread for one year, and on September 1, 2016, she has taken on the role as supervisor. Miss Heather has been in the field for 20 years and has worked in a variety of childcare settings, including Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children, Grand Princess Cruise Lines and Wychwood Tigers Day Care. She also taught the Early Childcare Assistant program at Everest College. She is certified in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Food Handling and has completed the How Does Learning Happen professional training workshop. She is currently on mat leave, but will return in September 2018.
Miss Lyn is our RECE supply teacher and a regular face on Monday morning, as she volunteers her time to help with toy washing and other tasks. She has been with Gingerbread for approximately 10 years.
Miss Heather S is our newest RECE, and she will be starting with us in October 2017. Heather has 18 years of experience in the field, and has worked in a variety of settings, including the YMCA and Ontario Early Years (child care programs), the Milton Community Resource Centre, and at the Aisling Discoveries Child and Family Centre. She is also certified in ABA as well as Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI). She will be an asset to the team, as she is bilingual (French and English) and has a flare for music and crafts.
